MOVEMENT WORKSHOPS
These workshops offer the opportunity to come together in a led practice that opens a conversation between us through articulating the body using somatic (felt) explorations. You will be asked to explore movement through experiential exercises & improvised scores derived from the investigative ground of Lee’s Dance & Movement practice, a practice that includes explorations and discoveries found through sensory perception and awareness of the body, kinesthetic responses, somatic perceptions, & the awareness of the tensile structure of the body.

"I’ve been dearly loving these classes and am excited for the possibilities. I have also been finding my ability to move emotion and access creativity in new ways so very directly linked to these series. Plus the energy in the room with the ladies coming feels something which I can’t articulate but is so good." Belinda
SUCH RARE BIRDS - Dance Ensemble Project 2024 Such Rare Birds is a new ensemble developing on the Far South Coast. I AM HERE FINDING CENTRE April 29 & 30 2023 Using Body/Mind techniques as a system of exploration. This workshop will suit people who are interested in embodied research through movement as well as people who just want to dance & enjoy moving!
In this two-day movement workshop, our focus is on what it feels like to be balanced here & now & find ‘Centre’. We will identify what skilful movement is as a practice to find freedom in the body. Saturday will begin with Body-Mind training as a physical practice followed by explorations of this practice in motion. On Sunday we will take what we have learned into some creative play in the natural world.
WHOLE BODY Dec 3rd 2022 This workshop is for people who desire to play with improvised movement or are interested in embodied research through movement. We will extend our movement explorations to experiential exercises and improvised scores derived from the investigative ground of Lee’s practice; practices that include sensory perception, kinesthetic responses, somatic movement, and yogic concepts.
It also introduces skilful movement techniques from the best practices of the movement science world, which means you’ll be learning extremely valuable skills that teach you how to move, feel comfortable & capable in your body in every activity you do!
